MEET OUR TEAM
coach avery adams
Our Head Coach and CEO, Avery Adams, has been a full-time swim coach for nearly twenty years. After working alongside some of the top club and collegiate programs in the U.S., Coach Avery has, through years of dedication and study, developed a comprehensive system designed to develop swimmers aged 8-18 and beyond. Based in Charleston, SC, he works directly with individual athletes and serves as the Lead Dryland Coach for numerous programs across South Carolina, Florida, and Kentucky. His ability to bring high-level coaching to the grassroots level is unmatched in the Lowcountry and extends internationally as a keynote speaker and consultant.
Coach Avery has developed numerous elite senior swimmers who have gone on to successful college careers, as well as age group swimmers ranked in the top 20 and top 100 of all time. He has led presentations on physiology, season planning, and swimmer development for both individual athletes and coaching staffs. His passion for swimming shines through in every coaching session!

Coach Gannon Mennis
Hailing from South Florida, Gannon brings with him nearly two decades of coaching experience, spanning across a broad range of groups and athletes throughout the USA swimming world and beyond. He has served as Head Coach and Aquatics Director at multiple programs, within both USA swimming and FHSAA, and produced record holding swimmers up to the Age Group national level, a few of whom have progressed to become NCAA champions and Olympians. Gannon has also served within the Florida Gold Coast LSC as a coach/representative for the USA Southeast Zones Championship team multiple years as well as the Florida all-stars championship. Alongside his background in swimming, Gannon also operates independently as a strength training coach with a focus on Olympic weightlifting, as well as dryland synergies for developmental age group swimmers. He is very excited to foster the next generation of upcoming swimmers within the Elevate program!
